Losing weight is simple…. calories in versus calories out. You must burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight.
With that said. It is still important to make healthy choices. Why? Because WHAT you eat will determine the kind of weight you gain or lose!!! If you aren’t working out and just eating lots of junk and simple carbs, the weight you lose (if you’re in a caloric deficit) is likely to be muscle and the weight you gain (if you are in a caloric surplus) is likely to be fat. However, if you are lifting weights and eating enough protein, you are more likely to lose fat than muscle and gain muscle as opposed to gaining solely fat. (It’s a bit more complicated than this… but that’s the general gist of it).
Always choose healthy, wholesome clean foods. Lean proteins, healthy fats, veggies and fruits… not cookies, chips, crackers, pretzels, candy, doughnuts, pastries, processed deli meats, or other processed, packaged junk!

Water is so critical for weight loss and overall health!
Your body is primarily composed of water! Your organs require water to function properly! Don’t deprive your body of this essential resource! <3

Here is an update of my before picture with my current progress photo. I’ve been eating much healthier and try to stick to a vegan diet, I’m also gluten free! The fact that I look really unhealthy in the first photo is excellent motivation to keep me going!!

It’s so important to continually challenge yourself!!!
Your workout should never be easy. If it’s easy, I can almost guarantee your body is not changing! While it’s not necessary for you to be so sore you can’t walk for days.. you also don’t want to feel fresh and clean right after a workout. Try adding sets, or increasing the weight, or changing the order of the exercises if you feel that what you’re doing has become too easy!
You get out what you put in, so put forth your best and reap the benefits!!
